I love Demi Lovato. Like, I think she’s tremendously talented. And I’ve really been waiting for this new single. So, when she released it early, I was excited. Don’t get me wrong, I think the song is really catchy, and it’s vocally very intense. The harmonies in this are so boss. But a few lines in this song sort of bug me. 

Specifically, “You make me wanna act like a girl. Paint my nails and wear high heels/perfume.” It’s not a big deal, I know. But I feel as though popular singers should stop perpetuating ideas of what being a girl is and to what all men are attracted to. I dunno. It was just my first reaction upon listening to the song. 

Again, I think it’s a really great song otherwise. And most of the song doesn’t have this message. So, great job, Demi! Hope the rest of the album is this nice.
